PLN 26

I read the article "Speaking their digital language" by David Warlick and i made some connections with it.

This past week I had a parent stop me in the hallway. They wanted to thank me for the presentation I gave to parents during conferences called “A guide to your digital child.” As part of the presentation, I tell parents to go home sit down with their high schooler and have their child help them start a Facebook page and then let them teach you how it works.

Not my mom but my aunt asked me to help her make a myspace and I thought it was pretty weird when she asked me to make her one. When she learned the "Internet slang" (lol,jk,rofl, brb, afk, ect.) she was fascinated that the Internet had created its own language

I think that parents should NOT make myspaces or facebooks, instead have there kid show them what it is so patents don't constantly wonder exactly what it is, but if every adult made one that would get pretty annoying. Beause it is a TEEN social website

Josh, you did a good job explaining and connecting, yet, you were a little unprepared.

Josh, I thought you spoke really clearly and loudly which was good, but even though you didn't even have notes you would look down and around the room. Try not to fidgit so much and make your presentation a little longer.

Josh! I don't think older people should have myspaces, its dumb. But it's good for the political aspect because the majority of the people who have myspaces are over the age of 18 and can vote, and the presidential canidates need as many votes as possible.

Josh, great presentation. You didn't even use note cards! You only focused on one PLN, but, you still did really well. Try not to fidget so much when you talk, it is distracting. Other than that, you did an awesome job!
